[Review] OSIM uTrek Singapore

Like what the title says, 
I'm going to introduce you to one of OSIM's latest fitness machine, 


About a month ago, OSIM delivered a uTrek to my home and when I first saw it, 
I was a little astonished by how compact it looked!

It looked a bit like a running treadmill you see at the gym but slightly smaller and more compact in size to fit most of our HDB homes. 
It is definitely an ideal home fitness machine because its compact enough to be placed anywhere at home for a simple and comfortable workout!

You're always a plug away to start your exercise regime!
Best of all, you can do it any way, any time without worrying about any 
outdoor disruptions such as the weather!  


Everyone knows having regular physical activity and working out is really important to keep a healthy working lifestyle. But not everyone of us are so lucky to find time out of our busy schedules to workout.

One perfect example I have is my mom. She's a busy bee that works 6 days a week and 
whenever she reaches home, she will prepare dinner and by the time she is done with the household chores, she will be really tired to even think about doing a workout. 

After having uTrek, not only did she found her favourite spot to workout on weekends and in the evenings, she also "trek" more often in the comfort of our home whenever she's free!

I wanna highlight a few benefits that made me love uTrek so much!

Another 5 Habits to lose weight!

Like i promised in my previous TRICIA's FITNESS STORY,
I'm going to share with y'all more on "solid" food habits.

In the previous entry, 
I gave shared a few tips on how to lose weight by changing your "liquid" habits.

Today's tips and habits that I'm sharing is going to be slightly tricky 
and harder to adapt to because I do find them harder to adapt to.
However, once you're used to it, 
it's going to be a piece of cake!

Before we begin, 
I wanna post a disclaimer first!

* I do not own any of the tips i am going to share!
* If these tips doesn't work on you, try other tips somewhere else because i only stated 
that i works for me and i am only here to share my opinions and results!


Ok.. let's just jump straight into it!
Starting off with an easier habits (I find this easier myself :P)

1. EAT MORE MEALS 
WITH smaller PORTION!
Are you weird out when i mention eating more meals?!
Glad that you're eating more often yet losing weight?!

HAHA!
That's right!
When you eat more frequently, 
you're increasing your metabolism rate.
This is because your metabolism rate is constantly running at a steady speed the whole day!
I am eating at least 5 meals a day now and the feeling is good!
Actually, it's AWESOME :DD

The trick to this habit is to eat in smaller portion.
It's quite hard to meet this criteria because many would just eat until one is too full!
You shouldn't do that!
To help yourself into eating smaller portion,
you can try using a smaller plate to eat instead of the bigger plates you usually use!
I did that and it helped me to stop eating as much and the best part is...
I KNOW I'M LOSING WEIGHT!^^
*YAY!*

2. EAT ORGANIC!
Sounds hard to start with?
Actually, it's not at all!

When i say organic, i meant eating whole food (:
Whole food are natural food that contain little or no artificial additives or preservatives.

Q. So what's the difference between WHOLE FOOD and PROCESSED FOOD?
There's a LOT of difference!
Basically whole food are unaltered food in its natural state whereas processed food are food that are "created" by people.

Here are some examples of processed food:
- canned fruits
- french fries
- white rice
- chicken nuggets
- pasta
- bread
- jam

Surprised just how much staple food we eat on a daily basis are processed?
In fact, all processed food are food that comes in containers.
Hence, not many realized that food such as white rice, pasta and bread are 
unhealthy processed food!

So NOW YOU KNOW.

Here are some examples of whole food that everyone should consume more!
- fruits (not the canned ones!)
- potatoes
- brown rice (instead of white rice)
- vegetables
- chicken
- fish 
- beans
- milk

The reason to why you should eat more whole food other than because it is healthier (duh?!~)
is because they contain more nutrients compared to your usual processed food.
That's the reason why people end up eating more when they eat processed food.

Example: 
One will tend to eat more white rice than brown rice.
This is because white rice doesn't contain as much nutrients as the brown rice 
because the outside bran is removed.
The bran on the outside contains a lot of nutrients and fiber. 
Without the fiber, one will definitely eat more to feel fuller.

So in conclusion,
by eating more whole food, you'll eat LESSER for the same amount of 
nutrients received!
*YAYY!!*

3. EAT 80% FULL!
How to tell if you're 80% full?!

When i say 80% full... i meant,
not to gorge your food down when you eat.
Skip buffet sessions as much as possible as they make people eat until they explode.
LITERALLY!

DO NOT EAT TOO FAST!
This is because when you do that,
you will not realize that you're full.
& by the time you realized,
it's prolly too late because you're too full by then.


The trick is to EAT SUHHHH-LOWWWWW LY.
When you eat slowly, you enjoy the food (:
Mmmmmmm...
& when you do that, 
you'll fill your stomach and know when to stop.
*YAYYY!!!*

4. DITCH YOUR SIDES!

When ever you go out for a meal, 
let's take KFC for example.
You'll always have a drink and 2 sides 
(maybe 1, depends on the meal you order)
These sides are usually fries, mash potato or even bread etc!

The new habit you should learn now is to ditch these sides!
ORDER ALA CARTE!

If you really want to have the side, 
swap it for salad or veg &/or even fruits!

In fact, just add more colors to your meal. (:
Colors means more fruits and veg!
& less whites = less carbs!
*YYAYYYYY!!!!*

5. HAVE A SUNDAE!
not literally!

What i mean was to have a TREAT DAY! ;DD
Eberybody loves a treat day after a whole looooong week!

Do this once a week!
Go eat whatever you want...
Anything and everything IN MODERATION.

5 Habits to lose weight!

This post is gonna be another TRICIA's FITNESS STORY!

When i say habits (as stated in the title), 
i meant to do it on a regular basis, every single day.
Yes, these 5 habits that i am going to share with you is about to change your life.
CHANGE. YOUR. LIFE.
That's right! I said it!

Wanna know the best part about these habits?
THEY ARE EASY AND SIMPLE!
hahah!

Previously, i did a few blog entries on some products and workout routines 
i've tried to tone my flabby legs.
I've noticed that many of my readers are interested in finding ways to tone and slim down so i thought 
i should just blog about more tips on how i keep myself fit and slim too! (:
I must say i am not a very healthy person myself because i do eat junk food from time to time.
I do not exercise frequently too however, i'll always try to workout at least once a week!
So instead of trying to find time to workout and stuff, i tried to take up some new habits that would help me change my life and slim and in a healthy way (:

I have tried many tips online on how to lose weights and out of all the tips i tried, 
here are the top 5 tips that i wanna share with all my readers because it works on me!^^

Before i begin, here's a declaimer!
* I do not own any of the tips i am going to share!
* If these tips doesn't work on you, try other tips somewhere else because i only stated 
that i works for me and i am only here to share my opinions and results!

OK! 
Here we go!

1. DRINK A COLD GLASS OF 
WATER WHEN YOU WAKE UP!
Are you surprise that such a easy habit can actually help you lose weight?

When you wake up in the morning, 
your body is pretty dehydrated because you don't drink water in the night.
This results in the decrease of your metabolism when you wake up.
A cold glass of water in the morning can actually help to re-hydrate and boost your metabolism!
This means that you can burn your calories faster and more efficiently!
*YAY!*

In addition,
by adding a few slices of lemon into your water,
it helps to detox your body.
So in all, 
COLD WATER + LEMON = Increase Metabolism & Detox!

2. DRINK A GLASS OF WATER 
30 MINUTES 
BEFORE YOUR MEAL!
This is another easy habit to take up!

See... the thing is.. 
WATER IS FREE!

By drinking a glass of water before your meal,
it helps to fill up your stomach so you will eat lesser than usual (:
*YAYY!!*

3. DRINK GREEN TEA!
This is a very popular tip that i learnt this from a guy friend who is desperate on losing some 
weight before he enters NS! 
haha!

Green tea has been a popular option to help lose weight because it helps to 
detox your body and boost metabolism at the same time!
Not only that!
By drinking green tea, you're also in taking water...
& drinking water is healthy!
So... *YAYYY!!!*

4. DITCH YOUR FIZZY DRINKS!
When i say ditch, i meant NO MORE fizzy drinks!

Examples of fizzy drinks are COKE, PEPSI, SARSI... etc

These soda drinks have lots of sugar in them and they are really unhealthy and fattening!
They can also be addictive so it might be really hard for some of your girls 
out there to ditch them at first.
However, with some determination and motivation...
I'm sure you can ditch these fuzzy drinks in no time!
Imagine how much calories are not taken in just by skipping these drinks! :DD
*YYAYYYYYY!!!!*

5. DO NOT EAT 3 HOURS 
BEFORE YOU SLEEP!
Frankly speaking, i still have trouble trying to stick to this habit now.

As i always tend to stay up late to finish my assignments and blog,
i have the tendency to crave for food.
SUPPER is always my midnight serial killer.

So in order to help in keeping this habit,
i'll try to take fruits and/or steamed broccoli for supper.
In fact, try to sleep early!
Face the fact...
People who stay up late are prone to weight gain. ):

I just realized these are all "liquid" habits!
I'll prolly post another entry on more "solid food" habits soon!
